The Bride Of Christ

from $30.00

An archival giclée print created with museum-quality pigment inks on fine art paper, faithfully preserving the depth, color, and contemplative presence of the original painting.

In this striking piece, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux personifies the bride of Christ as she embraces Him amidst the chaos of a tumultuous storm. Jesus clings to the cross, a poignant symbol of sacrifice, while Thérèse scatters roses from her hand, an act of blind faith and love. The artwork reveals a swirling vortex around them, evoking a sense of drama and intensity, inviting the viewer to explore the interplay of devotion and resilience. This remarkable painting is not only a visual journey but also a heartfelt reflection on faith, making it a meaningful addition to any space.

"When I die, I will send down a shower of roses from the heavens,I will spend my heaven by doing good on earth.”― St.Therese of Lisieux

n my work, I engage deeply with themes of faith, sacrifice, and the intersection of beauty and turmoil. Using paint as my medium, I explore the complexity of human emotion, particularly in the context of spiritual devotion. Each piece embodies a dialogue between the serene and the chaotic, revealing the intricate balance that exists within our experiences.

I am passionate about portraying figures who represent profound connections to the divine, like Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Through her, I examine the idea of unconditional love amidst suffering, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationships with spirituality. The act of dispersing roses among storms symbolizes hope and grace in the face of adversity, which is a recurring motif in my work.

Inspired by both religious iconography and the emotive power of nature, I draw upon historical influences while infusing a contemporary lens into each composition. My brushwork conveys energy and movement, embodying the dynamic exchange between light and shadow, love and despair. I strive for my art to resonate on both an emotional and spiritual level, illuminating the profound connections between humanity and the divine.

This work was created as an altarpiece for a cloistered convent of Carmelite Nuns.  It is a visual representation of the testimony of St. Therese, when she exclaims:  "When I die, I will send down a shower of roses from the heavens,I will spend my heaven by doing good on earth.”― St.Therese of Lisieux
